Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP)
The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) is a New York State Medicaid Program that allows consumers that need long-term home care to direct their own care.
Recruit, hire, and train your own personal assistant, which can include a family member, friend or someone you know and trust in your neighborhood.
Most people, including adult children can serve as Personal Assistants and get paid to provide care under CDPAP. Spouses do not qualify.
You must be Medicaid Eligible.
Job duties include help with activities of daily living, bathing, dressing, meal preparation, medication, shopping, errands and more.
